Yr plainly right. I think the main reason its been holding is because India and China like cheap oil,. However, the workaround is their credit swaps. The incoming BRICS trading platform will shake things up. Its taken a while, but keeping China and India is the same room has been a huge diplomatic success. A stark contrast to the colossal EU diplomatic failure, to stop the Ukraine conflict from spiralling out of control post 2014.

Even if you go to China, in Shanghai or Beijing their infrastructure, roads, buildings is now better than what we have in our cities, by a significant margin. Just look some drone videos of Shanghai. Hey Sean something that's been on the back of my mind for years. It seems that we where , according to the EIA, in a serious decline in conventional oil in the early 2000s-2010s, once fracking came on line , fracking production covered up the decline for now. However, conventional has been marching downward , Im assuming, and with that assumption, once fracking oil as a whole starts declining , AND conventional oil declining , it seems the decline will go exponential . Am I missing something? Thanks for the update!

The US may have many bad things happening but we are lucky to live in the US. Tell me where was the last time Continental US was attacked? We are protected by God, by two oceans and by two neighbouring countries which are not warmongers. The US is in a privileged position compared to so many countries in Asia and the Middle East, which are the regions who hate us.

I'm planning on buying heavily into oil at year end assuming Trump wins (since he's pro oil). Oil will be around for another 50 years until it's mainly replaced by Fussion. And oil usually falls during the Winter that's when I plan to buy. And with AI requiring much more energy (look at how much energy just bitcoin uses it's enormous). And fossil fuels support AI and pretty much everything else in the world. Adding, everyone in the world will more than likely use more and more energy to have a higher stand of living. That all means more oil will be used and that's good for oil companies. IMO. Thanks.

Cheap energy is what is needed to raise the standard of living of all people in the world and right now oil is the best choice. In 50 years then Fusion will take over and power EVs that have batteries that way at least 50% less (just a guess). IMO.

Power, mainly Oil for now and for the next 40 years, is literally Power. The more power the higher the standard of living for people. And the cheaper the power (oil) the higher the standard of living. Give people cheap oil and you get them wealth, a high standard of living. IMO.

We see evidence every day that green energy doesn't work, yet money continues to be thrown down the drain on this madness.

What they should do is shutdown bitcoin and use the energy savings for AI. Go Oil. Oil will sooner or later have its ~$120 a barrel day as it will need to in order to catch up to the price of Gold. IMO.

Hi Sean, I've got a different take from a conspiracy theory I saw on X. At the current administration's insistence Ukraine has attacked Russia Kursk region to provoke a disproportionate response. If Russia takes the bait the U.S. elections are suspended and war time powers take effect. NATO mobilises. Putin is aware of this which is why he has done nothing. Trump has publicly stated he would end the Russia/Ukraine conflict. Nvidia is at the centre of the AI revolution. If you look into the company you will find it's steeped in fraud. The much touted AI infrastructure will never be built. Every stock market bubble needs a sector to capture the imagine. Right now it's AI but the next market phenomena will be space and companies such as SpaceX and Rocket Lab. On the 5th August the Nikkei fell 12% and the carry trade began to unwind. Over the next two weeks the U.S. exported 10.5mb and 11.5mb respectively. Behind the scenes the wheels are coming off. Indicators are the Fed announcement they'll likely cut rates in September. Gold price breakout through the $2,400 resistance level the bullion banks had defended for so long and global oil inventories drawing down in both the U.S. and China.

If Dems win I go heavily into Canadian oil since they will limit American Oil Production thus Oil will move much higher in price. If Repubs win they'll Drill Baby Drill. Thus I plan to avoid Oil producing companies and maybe go into oil processing firms. All is my opinion.

The other night Trump and Elon Musk interviewed together and he said in that interview that oil is abundant.

Well said Sean. You've become very informed over a variety of subjects. A very interesting point you made was about financial assets and oil. The problem you highlighted was the fact more oil needs to come onto the market to meet current and future demand. Oil supply growth in the Permian (the last remaining growth basin) is hampered by gas pipeline constraints. It wouldn't matter what the oil price is as more oil couldn't be produced. U.S. policy is to crush consumer domestic (OECD) demand for oil and allow China and India's economies to accept those barrels. This would solve the immediate debt problem as the U.S. would run a trade surplus. The politicians are partly to blame, but the majority lies with the people of the west. A President, you didn't mention, was Jimmy Carter whose address to the nation on energy in 1977 laid out what had to be done. I personally haven't owned a car in over a decade. I am a vegan (less fertiliser and therefore natural gas needed to grow the food I eat) and a free market conservative. I believe in the conclusion of Thomas Malthus' essay on the principle of population. In 15th century the global population was estimated to be 500m people. today it stands at 8.1bn. I don't have children and I couldn't afford to provide for them if I did without state assistance. The U.S. has to supply the world with oil or lose control of the U.S. treasury market. If the treasury market goes the dollar would follow in short order.
